It’s another thrilling week of high school sports here in our community! Whether it’s the crack of a baseball bat, the swish of a basketball net, or the excitement of a thrilling lacrosse game, our local teams delivered some fantastic performances this past weekend. Let’s dive into all the action from the scores to notable highlights!
Baseball Buzz – April 2
The baseball diamonds were alive with energy on April 2, as teams battled it out for victory. Canyon came out strong, defeating Woods Cross (UT) 7-2, thanks to a solid pitching performance from Zhang who earned the win. Fullerton also showed up to play, taking down Irvine with a score of 6-3, highlighted by Wise who pitched an impressive 5 innings allowing no earned runs.
Foothill found success against Northwood, securing a 6-1 win, with Ujiie recording 4 strikeouts to showcase his skills. Villa Park triumphed over Pacifica with a decisive 4-0 score, and McGuire had a standout pitching performance. In a nail-biter, El Dorado barely edged out Liberty with a close 2-1 victory. While Cypress celebrated an 8-1 triumph over Arlington, Pacifica Christian also made their mark, winning 3-0 in the San Diego Lions Tournament.
Adding to the excitement, JSerra managed to clinch a 4-2 victory over Servite after 9 intense innings. What a day for high school baseball!

On the softball field, Rosary Academy faced Vista Murrieta, with a final score of 5-3. Huerta proved to be a crucial player in this victory. Meanwhile, Orange Lutheran put on a show against Grand Terrace, winning comfortably with a score of 10-1, all thanks to a stellar performance from Marsh.

Turning the page to April 3, the excitement didn’t let up! In the National Classic Championship Game, Aquinas achieved a close victory over Cypress with a score of 2-1. Fullerton continued their winning streak, defeating Canyon del Oro 8-2 in the Michelle Carew Classic.
On the tennis courts, Mater Dei triumphed over Santa Margarita 11-7, while Rosary Academy secured an 8-5 victory against Roosevelt in a nail-biting softball match.
