News Summary

As Fourth of July approaches, cities across Orange County prepare for fireworks celebrations. Orange will allow sales of safe fireworks for the first time, and several other cities will join in, ensuring safety regulations are followed. Community fundraisers will benefit from these sales, fostering local spirit. Exciting local events, including parades and music, will enhance the festive atmosphere, making this Independence Day a memorable celebration in the region.

Independence Day Celebrations in Orange County: Fireworks Sales and Regulations for 2025!

As the Fourth of July approaches, cities across Orange County are getting ready to celebrate our nation’s birthday with fireworks! That’s right; this year, the city of Orange will be joining others in allowing sales of state fire marshal-inspected “safe and sane fireworks.” Get ready for a summer of sparkle and fun!

Exciting Fireworks Sales

In Orange, the firework stands will be operating for the first time this year, making it even more special for residents! Shoppers can grab their favorites from noon to 10 p.m. on July 1-3, and until 9 p.m. on July 4. However, there’s a catch: fireworks can only be used on July 4 from noon to 10 p.m. Also, remember to play it safe, as there are restrictions in the hilly areas of east Orange due to the risk of wildfires.

Other cities like Anaheim, Buena Park, and Costa Mesa are also getting into the fireworks spirit. Anaheim has opened 16 stands where enthusiasts can find their favorite pyrotechnics until July 4. Fireworks can be discharged from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on that day, but beware of the hills; they are off-limits!

In Buena Park, sales run from July 1 through 4, with families able to pop fireworks from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on July 4. Costa Mesa will open its gates for sales leading up to the holiday, too, but discharge times vary, so be sure to check the local guidelines!

Safety First, Folks!

Fire officials want to remind everyone that while fireworks can be a blast, safety needs to come first. Don’t tamper with the fireworks, and always keep them out of children’s reach. Best of all, if you think the thrill of fireworks is worth a fine, think again! Cities are cracking down with hefty fines for the use of illegal fireworks. It’s just not worth the risk to your safety or your wallet!

Community and School Fundraisers

Many cities are allowing community and school groups to set up booths to sell these fireworks as fundraisers. This is a fantastic opportunity for local organizations to earn some cash while adding to the holiday atmosphere. So when you buy those fireworks, you’re also supporting your community!

Important Rules and Regulations

Each city has its own set of rules, so keeping track is crucial. In Huntington Beach, for example, fireworks can only be used on the big day itself, and absolutely no fireworks are permitted on the beach or in public areas. Residents of Los Alamitos can enjoy fireworks from two booths, with the same exciting schedule as many of its neighboring cities.

Villa Park gets an early start, with sales beginning on June 30! Other cities like Westminster and Fullerton are holding similar festivities, so there are plenty of places to find your sparks!

Local Celebrations

Don’t forget, it’s not just about the fireworks! There are plenty of local events planned throughout Orange County, including parades, community celebrations, and of course, some of the most spectacular fireworks displays, such as the one in Newport Beach, which is one of the largest in Southern California. This year’s festivities promise live music and a lively atmosphere that lasts well into the evening with a grand finale over Back Bay!

So grab your loved ones, get your fireworks, and prepare for a fabulous Fourth of July filled with colors, fun, and community spirit in Orange County! Happy Independence Day, everyone!
