News Summary
Residents in Los Angeles are experiencing a modest decrease in gas prices, with the average dropping to $4.464 per gallon. While this dip, only two-tenths of a cent, is minor, it follows a recent trend of fluctuating gas prices. Comparatively, prices are down significantly from last year and previous months, but potential increases loom due to upcoming tax changes and regulations. Meanwhile, Orange County has seen a slight uptick in prices. Drivers may increasingly consider alternative transportation as gas prices continue to fluctuate.
Gas Prices Take a Slight Dip in Los Angeles, But Watch Out for Future Increases!
Los Angeles residents are seeing a tiny reprieve at the pump, with the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline slipping down by two-tenths of a cent to $4.464. This small decrease follows a similar trend from the previous day, which saw a drop of just one-tenth of a cent. While this price change may not feel like a lot, it’s a sign of some ongoing fluctuations that Angelenos might find interesting.
Comparing Prices
If you’re tracking gas prices, it’s worth noting that this current average is now 0.9 cents lower than it was just a week ago. Even better news is that it’s down by 7.5 cents from a month ago, and a notable 11 cents lower compared to the same time last year. Remember when we saw those gas prices soar? The average shot up to a staggering $6.493 back in October 2022. From that peak, we’ve seen a welcome reduction of $2.029!
On the flip side, if you’re heading over to Orange County, be prepared for a slight uptick in prices. There, the average price ticked up by 0.8 cents to $4.418, following a small decrease of 0.4 cents the day before. It’s interesting to note, though, that this price is unchanged from a week ago, but 6.9 cents lower than a month ago, and 6.7 cents lower than last year. Just like in Los Angeles, Orange County has seen a significant drop of $2.04 from its peak of $6.458 last October.
